Course Breakdown: Kingsley #6

The 6th hole at the Kingsley Club is a shorter par 4 (360 yards) that should be a reasonably easy hole. You’ll see that there is a big fairway that tightens the further you hit it with bunkers short right( and left. The widest part of the fairway is short of the far left bunker which is 270 yards away from the tee box. With this knowledge, I would hit enough club to carry the bunkers on the right (215 yards) but short of the area where the fairway tightens (270 yards). Typically my 3 wood. This gives me the highest odds of hitting the ball in the fairway. The target line is the bush short right of the green as long as you are very comfortable with carrying the short right bunkers. If this isn’t a guarantee, aim a little more left to avoid these bunkers.

The green is pretty simple, pitches right to left with a few tough pin positions. The worst miss is left or long because of the shaved collar that’ll feed the ball away from the green. A short that lands on the right side of the green is your target to nearly any pin position. The back half of the green slopes front to back so be careful when the pin is in the back and accept coming up and bit short to take away the bad miss long or left.

Take a little walk up the hill and right when you’re on the 6th tee box. You’ll be able to see the green on 7 and get a sneak peak at where this pin is located.
